Clean MIDI recordings, fast!
MIDI File Stripper is a filter for removing non-note data from MIDI recordings. Many times MIDI files rendered from hosts or hardward can contain lots of CC, Tempo, NRPN and other junk data. This can result in tempo offsets, timing problems, velocity and controls being locked and other spontanious parameter anomalies. Manually editing out the specific data effecting the recorded file can be an arduous task at best. Plus with the advancment in todays recording systems, adding and routing to ‘in host’ MIDI filters can be complicated and time consuming.
Time is money right?
MFS was designed with simplicity, ease of use and most importantly speed!
– MFSportable allows you to take it to the recording session. It runs from the computer, any removable media (ie. USB thumb drive), over shared network folders, or even burned to a CD/DVD/BlueRay disk.
– MFScommand is installed into the system, strips the file data by right clicking on the MIDI file.
Both will create a bran new “*_stripped.mid” file in the same directory.
MFSp/c run on XP, Vista and Win7 operating systems only.
They are a part of several other recording session tools I plan to release this year (check back often for info on the other tools).
If you feel the MFS is helpful, please consider a dontation.
Any amount you can offer is much appreciated and will help me to offer support, updates and keep the session tools project going!
Feel free to comment here or contact me with any question, request or opinion you may have!
Happy MFSing!

Excellent! Just what I wanted to help students download free midi files and import into sibelius or a DAW for studying.

If you are installing the command version,
use the included installer else you should be able to run the portable version without installing.
I just tried the download link. Works perfectly.

If you run it through jotti’s scanner you’ll see its clean.
MFSp uses compile compression that sometimes can return false positives for malware and viruses.
